Get Ashley Benson's style!

If you’re a fan of Ashley Benson then you’re probably used to seeing her in either a pink bikini in Spring Breakers or “three inch heels or nothing” as Hanna Marin in Pretty Little Liars. But when she’s not on set or on the red carpet then Ashley’s style is pretty laid back. She’s a fan of the beanie as well as slouchy tees and black jeans; some may describe her style as grungy with a trendy edge. I personally love it, so here are some ways in which you can get Ashley’s style!

Where? Coachella 2013
1. Sunglasses - Urban Outfitters; 2. Cape - Capology; 3. Jeans - Krisp; 4. Tank top - Nasty Gal, alternative at Nasty Gal; 5. Stud bracelet - ASOS; 6. Bracelets - sold out @Topshop, similar at Nordstrom; 7. Stonewash Converse - Converse

Here are some other outfits Ashley has worn lately, what do you think? Comment below!

A run through San Francisco (or how to stay in shape while traveling)

Who said your outfit couldn’t make heads turn when you’re working out?

The sun has finally decided to show up and the warm weather is, from my perspective, synonym of “get outside ’cuz it’ll only be there for 3 months”. Bikini season is approaching and so I’ve decided to make a special “welcome back” to my running shoes, and this made me think of the beautiful West Coast of the United States.

This week’s destination? San Francisco, or should I say “A day in San Francisco”. Between the tourists attractions, and the wonderful view, San Francisco is a city of health on the food level, as well as on the sports level.

Make the most of your day
Start your day with a walk to Pier 39, the biggest Pier of the city, where you’ll see runners passing by at every moment. From there, take a boat to Alcatraz, where you’ll face the impressive reality of prisoners of the middle of the twentieth century. Back on shore, rent a bike, and enjoy the wonderful view of the Golden Gate Bridge, as you bike on the road aside of the water. Stop at a small kiosk for a worldwide known “Clam chowder”, and make a small visit of Ghirardelli to enjoy the amazing smell of chocolate. Back on your bike, make a detour to Lombard Street, and reach the end of the road to visit Fort Point, under the Golden Gate. Leave your bike near the entrance and take a walk on one of the most acclaimed bridge in the world!

You’ll probably want to enter the Nike store in Union Square, where the rainbow of running shoes on the wall makes you want to buy every each of them.

Finish your day with a Cable Car Ride, and make sure to catch a picture of the amazing architecture!

This summer, if you’re planning on a trip, take your colourful running shoes with you. Running through the streets is a wonderful way to discover hidden places! It also gives you an absolute different perspective... And it burns the calories you over-eat all-day because you are so right if you want to taste everything!

Spring Spotlight: Maxi Dresses

Left-Right: 1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5 - 6

A HUGE trend for the Spring/Summer season is maxi dresses. I am obsessed with how boho and carefree they look. I suggest pairing plain maxis with a statement necklace and some strappy sandals. For plain maxis, I suggest keeping it simple and adding a few bracelets and some sunglasses.
Here are a few of my picks for the season!

I love the back on this dress. It is so simple yet stunning. It is perfect for those summer days where a top knot is necessary. Tobi.com has great affordable dresses for any occasion!

This Lulu's.com dress is perfect for a night out! Perfect dress to pair with your favorite statement necklace and your favorite pair of wedges!

I can absolutely see myself wearing this dress during the summer. This A'gaci dress gives a bohemian vibe with the hat and belt. You can dress this up or down for night or day looks!

Which dress is your favorite?

How to dress for Spring when it's still obnoxiously cold!

Photo used with permission from Collage Vintage

Here's the deal: I live in Minnesota, also known as The Coldest State of the United States. And I mean it when I say it was literally blizzarding this time last week, but I've been desperately trying to incorporate spring-y items into my "winter" wardrobe. Some of you may want to skip right over this article because it may well be warm where you are, but to my ladies that are still freezing your asses off, but want to spring up your wardrobe, this is for you!

This option is perfect for a day in class or running errands about town! It may be too soon to rock a crop top on its own, but that doesn't mean they can't be layered! Pair it with high-waisted pants and a loose-fitting sweater, and you'll be good to go!

These options are perfect for a night out with your girls, or even if you just feel like dressing up a little on a normal day!

This outfit isn't dissimilar to what I wore today! Super simple, and comfortable, but still put together!

Anyways, hope my ideas helped you! Getting on polyvore definitely helped me :)

The 90s are back!

Known and loved TV shows and movies from the 80's and 90's have been my recent go to for a few giggles. It's hard to believe what some people work back then and how they thought bucket hats folded up with a giant fake flower or two on them looked good - you know the ones I'm talking about. Plaid on plaid was cool, and the tighter your curls were, the better. Justin Timberlake anyone?

But I am not here to hate. I'm sure we will all regret some of our own styling choices in centuries to come. It happens to the best of us.

I am writing to commemorate. To honor those who have subconsciously predicted the fashion future. whenever I wach a cheesy Beverly Hills 90210 episode, or the classic Clueless, I get excited when I see clothes I actually like and would wear. Not in a vintage way but in a full priced new season kind of way. Cher Horowitz, a fashion icon in the 90s, is still influential today. I love that in 2013 someone could wear the cute high-waisted shorts and blue sleeveless shirt worn by Lisa in Dirty Dancing and it would not be deemed weird. They have defied the odds of wearing some of the many past trends that are now frowned upon, and this is an achievement.

Get Lucy Hale's Style!

If there’s a celebrity's style that I’m seriously crushing on this spring/summer it's Lucy Hale’s. If you haven’t heard of her then here’s a little bit of background – Lucy Hale is a singer and actress who currently plays Aria Montgomery on ABC Family’s show 'Pretty Little Liars'. Like Lucy, Aria has an amazing, unique style, so I suggest you check it out! The show itself is quite fashion focused, among other things, and each main character has their own style.

But back to Lucy - she’s often seen in boho type outfits, whilst still following the trends. Donning hats and layering bracelets, Lucy seems to enjoy accessorizing. Here are some of my favourite outfits that she’s worn recently to Coachella and where to find similar items!

Where: Just Jared Music Festival Brunch, Coachella, 2013

1. Zig Zag Ikat Backpack - Topshop
2. Horse Bracelet Pack - Topshop
3. Skull Friendship Bracelet Pack - Topshop
4. Mood Friendship Bracelet Pack - Topshop
5. Hix Clean Toe Post Sandals - Topshop
6. Basic Crop Vest - Topshop (Alternative also at Topshop here, here and here)
7. Paisley Maxi Skirt - Warehouse (And an alternative also at Warehouse and Pacsun)

If you'd like to complete the outfit with a Daisy crown, Nasty Gal (link) have a gorgeous one at the moment.

Where: Fruttare Fruit Bar Stop @ Coachella

1. Cutler & Gross Gothic Heart-Frame Sunglasses - Selfridges (Alternative at Swell)
2. Sekonda watch - ASOS
3. Floral Backpack - Bank (UK) (Alternative at Delia's)
4. Just Acces Soma Big Ring - ASOS
5. Move Sandals - Kurt Geiger
6. Blue Floral Print Sleeveless Playsuit - New Look (UK & EU) (Alternative at Motel - use code seeitwantit for up to 20% off!)

What do you think of Lucy's style?

Emma Overload!

Whenever an award ceremony comes around, I look to see what Emma Watson is wearing.  The epitome of youth and class, she never fails to bring a radiant, elegant, and semi-conservative dress to the forefront of everyone’s attention. It’s just hit me however, that almost every dress has been almost an exact replica of the other!

She just wore this lovely mini-party dress to the MTV Movie Awards. Wild patterns seem to be her forte, because if you take a look at the 2012 MTV Movie Award dress, it is a very similar cut andneckline! We seem to have developed a bit of a comfort zone here..

When we go back even further to the 2012 People’s Choice award, we get the same feeling as before, chaotic pattern, conservative neckline and shorter hemline.

Then there’s the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards…

And the 2011 MTV Movie Awards…

Along with the 2011 Elle Style Awards.

See what I mean? This has been going on for three years! Although there’s nothing really wrong with it, I’d l just love to see her debut in something completely shocking and different.

I’d personally want to see her rock the thigh-high slit like Angelina Jolie. If you could style Emma, what would you want her next look to be?

Dark Demi

It seems that all the Disney starlets have an album dropping soon!

Selena just dropped her latest single “Come  And Get It” and we all know that Miley has joined the Twerk Team indefinitely with Snoop Dog  Lion. Demi has yet to drop Heart Attack, so in light of that, today we’re going to be focusing on her style.

What I love about Demi Lovato’s style is that it is more accessible. It has that bad-ass grunge aspect to it, but less so than Miley Cyrus. They both echo each other in their intensity, but Demi’s style seems to be a bit more relaxed. You are more likely to find a piece that Demi has worn before in the mainstream market and still be able to pay your rent.

For example, she just wore an all Topshop outfit on Jimmy Kimmel live. The black studded leather jacket is a staple piece which you’ll be able to wear with a combination of outfits, along with a classic black dress. If you follow Demi’s style, you’ll find that many of her pieces can be mixed and matched while still maintaining an edge, thanks to the all black color scheme that seems to be her fave. Black can most certainly be worn in Spring and Summer, so get out those leather jackets!

The must-have app for fashion lovers - Wanelo

OK guys so my friend recently told me about this app to download and I became OBSESSED - that might even be an understatement! Anyway, it's called Wanelo...you can download it for iPhone from the app store or join online by creating an account either linked to your facebook or with an e-mail address, the app requires you to join to but its super easy and doesn't take any personal info.

If you're curious about the name WANELO it stands for WAnt NEed LOve=WANELO. I know, so clever right.

So basically I'm just going to tell you a little synopsis of what it is and I hope that you guys love it as much as I do. The first reason why it appealed to me is because it's pretty much See It Want It in app form, I'm not even joking. The app allows you to search tags for anything you want 'skirts' 'tops' 'furniture' 'accesories' etc. those are pretty broad but you can get specific by searching for colors, styles, stores, etc. When you scroll down the grid of all the different items that fit your search when you see one you like you click on it, press save, and it saves right to your profile so you can look back on it later and remember to buy it. You can even make different lists so for example summer clothes, furniture for room or whatever and organize the items that way. When you click on an item it gives you the price, where it's from, a picture, and a link taking you to where you can buy it. And the best part...the app's totally free.

It has honestly helped my so much in finding cute and cheap clothes. It also helps me keep up with the current trends by seeing the most saved items. So for those of you who love See It Want It you'll love this app! I hope you guys download!

Destination of the week - Ponza...

Raise the sails in Ponza, in the Ponziane Islands!

As my friend was taking a peek in my wardrobe the other day, she was amazed (and discouraged) by the number of stripes there was. I don’t know I just like stripes.

This week I’m taking you to the Mediterranean sea, in beautiful Ponza, which is part of the largest Italian archipelago (the Ponziane islands). Since Ponza is in the middle of the sea, usually the destination of cruises or boat travelers, you can take a ferry from many cities in Italy (I have Formia in mind) to go spend a beautiful sunny day, feel the vibe of the sea as you walk down the twisty roads and put on your tanned Italian sailor look.

Talking about looks, that’s where I’m supposed to tell you how stripes are a reminder of the uniforms worn by sailors, but I guess I’ll show you how they have been influential in the world of fashion in the past years.

Throughout the seasons, Dolce&Gabanna has presented a travel-ish, casual but not too sporty look in its spring/summer fashion shows. I love how large and small stripes are mixed with buttoned vests. Some celebrities have even taken it to the next level on the red carpet.

Katy Perry vs Alexandra Burke... Who do you think wears it better?

For spring/summer 2013, Dolce&Gabanna is still embracing the stripes, but this time with a collection called “candy stripers”. Less sporty, more casual-chic; less white and blue, more colorful.

Back to Italy… As you arrive in the small port of Ponza, you are directly brought into the life of the place. A small market with red tomatoes like you’ve never seen, the shop of a local painter, restaurants where you might want to drink a lemonade, because Ponza is very hot in the summer. I remember so well when I took this picture, the temperature might have been near 40 Celsius degrees.

As you continue walking on the main street, you’ll discover amazing little places. One in particular caught my attention and I decided to enter. I might have mentioned it in my Montreal article, but when you travel, don’t be afraid to discover. Get out of the box, and ditch the whole “traveling-guide” thing (but use it for reviews and for not getting lost!!!). And so, I entered the shop, and I must say, it was like Ali Baba’s cave. Rings, earrings, pendants, clocks, shoes, hats, scarves; everything you cannot imagine in a shop of 5 by 5 meters, if not smaller.

After spending at least an hour in this place, you’ll love to walk through the small roads of Ponza, passing by the appartments of the Italians, and realizing that there once was an ancient city there. Some of the “adventurous type” might want to rent a bike and visit other places of the Ponziane islands.

So, dear readers, If your planning to travel by boat this summer, or visit an island or a destination near water, make the most of your trip by adapting your style to your environment. And you don’t have to try too hard! Match these Mango shorts with a colorful shirt, or this Zara dress with a light scarf with prints.

Do you want to visit Ponza? Have you been already?
